Important: the Raft protocol was exploited in November 2023. Its R stablecoin lost its dollar peg, and minting of R was paused (CoinDesk, The Block). In October 2025, the Raft website said “the reconstruction of Raft is underway” (raft.fi, Web Archive). On November 3, 2026, raft.fi didn’t load correctly, and Coinbase showed “not enough data” for RAFT’s market (Coinbase).
If you hold RAFT, you can keep it in any self-custody Ethereum wallet. Be very careful with buying, “claim” sites and recovery offers.

What Is Raft?
Raft is a decentralized lending protocol on Ethereum. Users deposited liquid staking tokens such as Lido’s stETH as collateral and borrowed R, a USD stablecoin, with an over-collateralization ratio of at least 110%. Raft was announced in March 2023, and its mainnet app went live on June 5, 2023 (IQ.wiki).
How to Store RAFT
RAFT is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum with the contract address 0x4C5Cb5D87709387f8821709f7a6664f00DcF0C93 (Coinbase). Any self-custody wallet that supports ERC-20 tokens can hold it:
- Open your wallet’s Ethereum account.
- Check that the RAFT token shown matches the contract address above.
- To receive RAFT, share your Ethereum (0x…) address and send a small test amount first.

What Happened to Raft
- March 2023: Raft announced. June 5, 2023: mainnet launch.
- October 2023: the first wave of RAFT token distribution began (same source).
- November 10, 2023: an attacker drained about 1,577 ETH, roughly $3.3 million, and sent 1,570 ETH to a burn address. R dropped as much as 50% below $1 and later rebounded to around 70 cents. Raft paused minting of R.
- After the exploit: Raft introduced a Recovery Plan with steps for affected users to claim compensation.
- October 2025: raft.fi read “Raft is navigating its return… The reconstruction of Raft is underway”.
- November 2026: the website doesn’t load correctly, and market trackers show little or no trading data.
Can You Still Buy or Swap RAFT?
With little or no reported trading data, buying or selling RAFT may be difficult. Prices can move sharply on small orders, and there may be no buyer at a fair price. Before any trade:
- Check current liquidity on a block explorer or DEX for the exact contract above.
- Compare the final amount you’ll receive, not the quoted rate.
- Be aware that a token from a protocol that was exploited and is still being “reconstructed” carries high risk.

Security: Avoid Recovery and Claim Scams
The official website isn’t working, so be suspicious of anything that claims to speak for Raft:
- Don’t connect your wallet to “Raft claim” or “Raft recovery” sites you found through ads, direct messages or social media.
- Never share your recovery phrase or private key.
- Check the token contract before you accept or send RAFT. Fake tokens with the same name are common.
- Revoke old approvals you gave to Raft contracts if you no longer use them.
