Student Coin (STC) Wallet

Updated: November 2026

Important: the Student Coin project has shut down. The team discontinued the project, closed the STC Wallet and its support channels on October 9, 2024, and delisted STC from centralized exchanges. If you still hold STC in your own Ethereum wallet, the project says you can redeem it through an on-chain burn until April 9, 2029 (Student Coin).

In short:

  • STC Wallet and “Student Coin login”: closed. All systems were disabled, and the team says STC Wallet user data has been erased.
  • STC on an exchange: withdraw it to a self-custody Ethereum wallet first, if the exchange still allows it. Don’t burn directly from an exchange.
  • STC in your own wallet: the project’s on-chain burn procedure pays 0.00675 USDC per STC to the address that burned the tokens.

What Happened to Student Coin

  • 2019: students from Kozminski University in Warsaw founded Student Coin as an educational blockchain project (CoinMarketCap).
  • April 9, 2024: after deciding to discontinue the project, the team started redeeming all STC tokens with the project’s remaining funds (CoinMarketCap, Student Coin).
  • June 9, 2024: the first redemption deadline for STC Wallet users (Decrypt).
  • October 9, 2024: Student Coin was fully liquidated. STC Wallet, support channels, email contact and servers were permanently disabled. At that point, 93.9% of STC had been burned and redeemed (Student Coin).
  • Until April 9, 2029: on-chain holders can redeem through the burn procedure. Afterwards, the project plans to donate any remaining funds to GiveDirectly (same source).

Redemption prices during the main phase ranged from $0.006 to $0.0137 per STC, depending on the user’s history (Decrypt).

Using a Self-Custody Wallet for STC

To redeem, you need a self-custody Ethereum wallet that can send ERC-20 tokens and receive USDC on the same address. You also need a little ETH for the network fee.

Walletverse is a free self-custody wallet for iOS and Android with 700+ cryptocurrencies and tokens, including ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum. Your private keys stay encrypted on your device. Built-in AML checks, powered by Crystal, let you check an address before you send. After redemption, you can use its swap aggregator of 100+ DEX and CEX venues to exchange USDC for other assets.

Where Is Your STC Now?

  • In the STC Wallet: the wallet and its redemption panel are closed. The project says data associated with STC Wallet users has been erased.
  • On an exchange (KuCoin, ProBit, HitBTC and others): trading has stopped. Exchanges allowed only withdrawals. Check with your exchange whether withdrawals are still possible, then withdraw to your own Ethereum wallet before burning.
  • In your own Ethereum wallet: use the on-chain burn procedure above.

Can You Still Buy or Swap STC?

STC is no longer traded on centralized exchanges. Tokens bought on DEXs after October 9, 2024 don’t qualify for the burn, so buying STC now offers no redemption path. Swap prices on DEXs or aggregators may differ from the 0.00675 USDC burn rate.

Security: Avoid Redemption Scams

The Student Coin team has stopped all communication, so anyone who contacts you as “Student Coin support” is not the team.

  • Don’t share your recovery phrase or private key with anyone.
  • Don’t connect your wallet to “redemption” or “claim” websites. The official procedure is a simple token transfer to the burn address.
  • Double-check the burn address and the STC contract address character by character.
  • Send a small test amount first if you’re unsure.
How the On-Chain STC Burn Works

According to Student Coin, here’s how the procedure works (Student Coin):

  1. Hold STC in a self-custody Ethereum wallet whose address you control. STC is an ERC-20 token with the contract address 0x15B543e986b8c34074DFc9901136d9355a537e7E.
  2. Send your STC to the burn address 0x000000000000000000000000000000000000dEaD.
  3. Wait for USDC. The team monitors the burn address and sends USDC back to the same address that burned the STC. This can take up to six months, and you won’t be notified, so check your address yourself.
  4. Expect a small deduction. The USDC amount is reduced by the transaction cost, $1–3.

Example: burning 10,000 STC at 0.00675 USDC per token should bring about 67.5 USDC, minus $1–3 in transfer costs.

Important limits:

  • Never send STC to the burn address directly from an exchange. USDC can only go back to the sending address, so you would lose your funds.
  • Tokens bought on decentralized exchanges after October 9, 2024 are excluded from the burn procedure.
  • The burn is irreversible. The payout depends entirely on the former Student Coin team fulfilling its stated process, and there’s no support channel anymore.
